2. Hosting and Server Log Files

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. Hetzner processes personal data on our behalf as a data processor within the meaning of Art. 28 GDPR; a corresponding data processing agreement is in place. All processing takes place on servers located in the European Union.

When you access this website, the following data is automatically transmitted by your browser to our web server and stored in log files for the purpose of ensuring IT security, debugging and operational stability:

  • IP address
  • Date and time of the request
  • Requested URL and HTTP status code
  • Referrer URL
  • Browser and operating system (User-Agent)

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in ensuring the security and stability of this website and in defending against attacks.

3. Website Analytics

This website uses a self-hosted analytics service to understand how visitors use the site. The analytics platform is hosted at analytics.byebot.de on our own infrastructure. No data is shared with third parties.

When you visit a page, the following information is collected:

  • Page URL path and page title
  • Referring website (domain only)
  • Screen dimensions
  • Browser language and timezone
  • Browser, operating system and device type (derived from the User-Agent header)
  • Approximate location (country and city, derived from the IP address via GeoIP lookup)
  • UTM campaign parameters, if present in the URL
  • Clicks on outbound links
  • Session duration (measured via periodic pings)

No cookies. The analytics service does not use cookies or persistent browser storage for tracking. Visitors are identified via a hash of the IP address and User-Agent, which rotates daily. The same visitor therefore receives a new identifier every day, which makes long-term tracking impossible.

Your IP address is used solely to derive an approximate location (country and city) and to generate the daily visitor hash. It is not stored in its original form.

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the statistical analysis of website usage in order to improve our offering. Because no cookies or other information is stored on your end device, consent under § 25 TDDDG is not required.

4. ByeBot CAPTCHA

This website embeds ByeBot, our own CAPTCHA service, solely for demonstration purposes so that visitors can try out the widget. ByeBot is not used to protect any productive forms on this website. If you interact with the demo widget, technical data (for example IP address and browser information) is processed in order to distinguish between human users and automated access.

ByeBot does not set cookies and does not track users. IP addresses are not stored permanently. All collected data is used exclusively for bot detection and is automatically deleted after a short period.

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in presenting the functionality of our product to visitors.

5. Contact by Email

If you contact us by email at info@byebot.de, the personal data you provide (typically your email address, name and the content of your message) will be processed solely for the purpose of handling your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual or contractual requests and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for all other cases, based on our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries.

Your data will be deleted once the request has been finally processed, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

6. Local Storage

This website does not use cookies. Your chosen interface language is stored locally in your browser's localStorage so that it can be restored on your next visit. This information never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers. Storage is based on § 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG (strictly necessary for the functionality explicitly requested by the user).

7. SSL/TLS Encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of sensitive content, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from http:// to https://.
